KYC and AML Policy
Everyone who transacts on EquityFlowX is identified first. This explains what that involves and why it is not optional.
Why
A platform through which securities change hands is required to know who its users are and to screen for financial crime. These checks protect other users as much as they protect us: the counterparty on the other side of your transfer has been through the same process.
What we check
- Identity — that you are who you say you are, from government identification and supporting evidence.
- Sanctions and watchlists — screening against applicable lists, repeated periodically rather than only at signup.
- Source of funds, where the size or pattern of a transaction makes it appropriate to ask.
- Entities — for a company or trust, the people who ultimately own or control it.
How long verification lasts
Identity verification lasts 24 months before it must be refreshed. Accredited-investor status expires separately and sooner; see the Accredited Investor Disclosure.
If a check does not pass
We may decline to verify you, restrict what your account can do, or decline to proceed with a transaction. Where the law prevents us from explaining why, we will say that we cannot explain rather than inventing a different reason.
What happens to the evidence
Verification documents are stored outside the public web root, are never reachable by a guessable address, and are retrievable only through a permission-checked link that expires. Every retrieval is written to the audit log. Staff access is limited by role, and reading a compliance record is itself recorded.
Reporting
Where we are required to report a suspicion to the authorities, we are generally prohibited by law from telling you that we have done so. Nothing in this document should be read as a promise to notify you.
Status of this platform
EquityFlowX is not a registered broker-dealer or alternative trading system, does not provide investment advice, and holds no customer funds.
